Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will shut down for two weeks.

A popular South Coast museum is one of the latest places in the region to be impacted by the latest COVID-19 surge.

The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will be closed starting Friday for two weeks.

Museum officials say the decision is intended to protect the safety of visitors, staff, and volunteers.

The Museum’s Sea Center on Stearns Wharf is also closed, but that’s due to a renovation project, and not the pandemic.
