A Ventura County man received a long prison sentence for shooting to death his wife at their Thousand Oaks home.

Prosecutors say audio from home security system helped with conviction.

A Ventura County man has received a 50-years-to-life sentence for killing his wife during an argument.

The murder happened last January, in the couple’s Thousand Oaks home.

Ventura County prosecutors say Tim Gautier and his wife Gina got into an argument. They say a home surveillance system captured the sound of him going to get a gun.

He fired two shots, killing his wife. A jury found Gautier guilty of first- degree murder, along with a special allegation he used a gun for the crime.
