A 73-year-old South Coast man has died days after being attacked outside of his house.

Oxnard Police say the attack happened July 13th, on Roosevelt Avenue. Melecio Chavez stepped out of his home just after 11 p.m., and was confronted by two men. Detectives say there was an argument, and one or both of the men hit Melecio, knocking him to the ground.

He was taken to a hospital. On Saturday, Melecio died from his injuries.

Investigators are trying to identify and find the men behind the attack, who are now wanted for murder.
