COVID-19 Related Death Toll On Central, South Coasts At Much Lower Rate Thans Six Months Ago, But Still Growing

Three additional deaths reported in San Luis Obispo County

The COVID-19 related death rate has slowed dramatically on the Central and South Coasts, with many of the people in the region at highest risk now fully vaccinated. But, we are still seeing some additional deaths.

San Luis Obispo County is reporting three new deaths related to the virus, the first since mid-May. There have been 1754 COVID-19 related deaths in the Tri-Counties since the start of the pandemic, with 1032 in Ventura County, 458 in Santa Barbara County and 264 in San Luis Obispo County.

We’ve had just over 138,000 confirmed cases of the virus in the region.

63% of Ventura County residents are now fully vaccinated. The rate is at 60% in Santa Barbara County.
