Bobby Aquistapace Park in Santa Maria is named after the longtime community leader.

Aquistapace helped run the annual Elks Rodeo and Parade for more than a half century. He was also known for his work on a number of chartable projects. Aquistapace died in 2013.

The new park is located at the corner of Sonya Lane and Western Avenue in Santa Maria. It has two basketball courts, three barbeque and picnic areas, a playground area, and restrooms.

The $700,000 project created the City of Santa Maria’s 28th park.
