Positive Milestone In The Battle Against COVID-19 On The Central And South Coasts

Tri-Counties goes three days without additional COVID-19 deaths reported

It’s been months since the region has gone without new daily deaths related to the virus being reported. But, no additional deaths were added to the total in the Tri-Counties during the period from Saturday through Monday.

1682 COVID-19 deaths have occurred in the region since the start of the pandemic. There is a lag time between when deaths occur, and they show up in the official count.

Meanwhile, 193 new cases of the virus were documented from Saturday through Monday. Ventura County had 46 over the three day period, Santa Barbara County 88, and San Luis Obispo County 59.

With its numbers down during the last few weeks, Ventura County is hoping the state will move the county from the red, to the more liberal orange reopening tier tomorrow. It would allow things like higher indoor capacity in restaurants and movie theaters.
