Public Health Officials Are Concerned About New Potential Surge

Even though new COVID-19 cases numbers have been improving on the Central and South Coasts, setting the stage for more reopenings, there’s concern about the potential for going backwards.

The worry is that with spring break here, some will break safety protocols and gather in large groups, or not wear masks.

Could spring break derail those efforts? Ventura County Public Health Officer Dr. Robert Levin says we won’t know for weeks.

He says the hope is we won’t see a repeat of what happened over the holidays. But, Dr. Levin says what will help is many have already had the virus, or have already been vaccinated.
