Back To School: South Coast School District Announces Plans For Full-Time, In-Person Instruction

One school district on the Central and South Coasts is optimistic about dealing with COVID-19. The Ventura Unified School District has announced that its schools will return to full time in-person instruction this fall.

District officials say they are planning to continue safety measures like mask wearing, enhanced cleaning, and contact tracing. They are also buying new desks to better allow the safe use of classroom space.

The district has been doing hybrid instruction in its elementary schools for some time now, and officials say they haven’t had student transmission spread on their campuses.

But if families aren’t ready for in-person instruction, the Ventura district will offer distance learning and homeschooling options. The district has 26 schools, and about 16,000 students.
