A Ventura County congresswoman has introduced a bill requiring all 50 states to allow people to register to vote on Election Day.

California, along with 20 other states and the District of Columbia currently allow voter registration on Election Day.

Democratic Congresswoman Julia Brownley of Westlake Village says her bill would apply to all federal elections.  Anyone who is a qualified resident of the state could register to vote and cast a ballot on the same day.
