A major health care provider has set up triage centers at its Central Coast health care facilities to assess potential coronavirus cases without contaminating indoor facilities. Dignity Health has put up triage tents at five urgent care locations. Triage tents have also been set up outside Dignity’s Marian Regional Center in Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande, and French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.
None of the triage tents have been activated, but they are on standby. Dignity officials emphasize that the triage tents aren’t coronavirus testing centers, and that tests will only take place if medical personnel decide it’s warranted for an individual.
