The pandemic has created tough times for many businesses on the Central and South Coasts.  Shutdowns have prompted more people to turn to online shopping.

A Santa Barbara County community is hoping to get people to shop locally through a contest which pays for some of their presents.

Molly Schiff is with the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber has launched a holiday campaign to encourage people to shop local.  The “Shop On Us” campaign!” will reimburse winners for up to $200 of purchases at local stores.

Schiff says there will be at least 10 winners.

A minimum purchase of $50 is required, but receipts can be bundled.  People can enter by sending in photos of their receipts by text, e-mail or mail.  You can find all the information at:  santamaria.com/shop-local-win
