The Channel Islands Marine and Wildlife Institute has saved a two-to-three-month-old baby bottlenose dolphin.

The dolphin was sighted three times over the last week, from Santa Barbara to Carpinteria.

A special team from the institute was able to get to the dolphin, which was tangled in netting that had been set in the ocean.

After lifting the cetacean into the boat with a special hook, the team cut the netting off the 75-pound dolphin in less than four minutes.

It was then let loose into an area where adult dolphins were already swimming.
