Ventura and Santa Barbara County officials say they are on track to implement the governor’s plan for the limited lifting of some business shutdown orders imposed because of the coronavirusus crisis. Officials in the region are still waiting for details of the governor’s plan, which are expected to be released Thursday.
Officials emphasize this move is just one step on the road to recovery. Malls are not going to reopen, and restaurants will not be allowing seated service this week. The governor’s plan calls for retailers in limited categories to reopen Friday with curbside pickup service.
Ventura County CEO Mike Powers says they include things like bookstores, clothing stores, toy stores and florists for curbside pickup. The manufacturing and supply chains for the stores will also be allowed to reopen.
Powers says the county is also working to tweak its version of the stay safe at home order to more closely align with the governor’s plan.
