From local and regional talent to nationally recognized performing artists, the Pop-Up Arts and Music Festival in Thousand Oaks features everything from opera to Beach Boys’ tributes and even a Disney movie night.
The Cultural Affairs Director for the City of Thousand Oaks, Jonathan Serret, told KCLU that it’s a chance for everyone in the community to enjoy the arts.
"It allows us to take events outside the confines of our walls here at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center and into the community and share those experiences with everyone," he said.
"If you make things as accessible as just opening your front door and crossing the street to a park and there's an event there, hopefully you're presenting those things with a limitation to the barriers that would normally obstruct people," said Serret.
There are eight free events every Friday and Saturday in the month of June.
