Ventura County firefighters are mopping up a brush fire in the Santa Clara River Valley which had them on the run much of the day Monday. The 170 acre plus blaze was discovered just before noon in the Santa Clara Riverbed, southwest of Santa Paula.
Ventura County firefighters were able to keep the blaze in the riverbed area. No structures were reported lost in the agricultural area. Smoke from the fire was pushed west by high wind along Highway 126 into the Ventura area.
High wind conditions have prompted Red Flag Warnings for high brush fire danger on the Central and South Coasts through tomorrow.
Southern California Edison has notified about 30,000 customers in Ventura County that they may be hit with intentional power outages to prevent brush fires. About 6,000 customers have already been impacted.
