Two kayakers who became stranded in the Channel Islands have been rescued by the Coast Guard.

The kayakers got stuck on a rocky outcropping below some cliffs on Anacapa Island Tuesday afternoon.  Fortunately, they were able to get enough cell phone reception to call 911.

A Coast Guard boat, and a helicopter were deployed.  The helicopter lowered a trained crew member down to help the two women.  They were then airlifted to the Coast Guard base at Naval Base Ventura County.

They were taken to an Oxnard hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.
