A new grand jury report says Santa Barbara County and its eight incorporated cities face a major threat from cyber-attacks, and are ill prepared to deal with them. The Santa Barbara County Grand Jury asserts that government agencies in the county don’t fully understand the risks and security issues posed by potential attacks.
It says most agencies don’t have written cybersecurity plans or comprehensive training for employees.
The grand jury report calls for agencies to develop plans, train employees on how to deal with the issue, and to buy cyber insurance to protect against losses.
