Two Central Coast businesses are using their staff to help in an unusual coronavirus relief project.
Santa Maria’s Marian Regional Medical Center received 175,000 masks from the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department. The masks were good, but the elastic bands to hold them in place are defective.
That’s where two Central Coast businesses stepped up to help. Staff members with Poor Richard’s Press and Safran Seats are replacing the elastic bands.
They’ve already repaired tens of thousands of masks for the hospital, but given the size of the project work will continue for the next few weeks.
