Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at an aircraft-parts manufacturing facility in Ventura County which prompted some evacuations.
The blaze was discovered just after six Tuesday morning, in an industrial building on the 100 block of West Cochran Street in Simi Valley.
The major concern was hundreds of barrels of nitric acid in the facility.
Captain Anthony Romero with the Ventura County Fire Department says they contained the blaze in about 15 minutes, and it then burned out in about two hours.
Because it put up a huge cloud of potentially hazardous smoke, the industrial park was evacuated, part of Madera Road was closed, and nearby residents were ordered to shelter in place.
All evacuation orders were lifted by 11:30. One minor injury was reported.
