Reports of a man brandishing a sword put a South Coast neighborhood on lockdown, and even disrupted Amtrak passenger train service.
The situation started just after 8 Tuesday night in Goleta.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies received reports of someone being threatened by a man with a sword outside of a fast food restaurant on the 100 block of Fairview Avenue.
The man fled the scene before deputies arrived. Area residents were told to stay in their homes, and a helicopter and K-9 dogs were called in to search for the man.
Just after 10 p.m. officers spotted King Rosario on the 100 block of Kellogg Avenue. Deputies say he was carrying a wooden replica samurai sword. The Goleta man was arrested on charges of possessing and brandishing a deadly weapon.
