Three Storms Headed Towards Central, South Coasts, But No Current Warnings For Brush Fire Burn Areas

A trio of storms are headed towards the Central and South Coasts, with one possibly creating debris flow concerns for some brush fire burn areas. Storm number one is predicted to arrive on the Central Coast Wednesday night, and work its way south early Thursday morning.

Rainfall totals could be in the quarter inch to inch range, but no major issues are currently predicted for burn zones. The second system is the one meteorologists say has the biggest potential to create flooding and debris flow issues. It’s expected to arrive midday Friday, and could drop two inches of rain on the coast and inland, and up to four inches in the mountains. The rain could be locally heavy at times.

The second storm will clear by late Saturday, and the third will arrive Sunday. It’s expected to be the weakest of the three.

Public safety officials are monitoring all of the storms, but so far no watches or warnings have been issued for burn areas.
