Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly Pomona teamed up for their 71st annual Rose Parade float.

"Far Out Frequencies" features two astronauts hosting two alien creatures, playing music together in a sign of goodwill.

The 48 foot long float was built in two parts, with a team from Cal Poly SLO building the rear portion, and Cal Poly Pomona the first part.  The two parts were connected in October.

Some 90% of the flowers on the float were grown in California.
