Detectives say they’ve broken up a major heroin distribution ring in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties which was based in Mexico.

Investigators with the Ventura County Narcotics Task Force say they’ve made a dozen arrests following a four month long investigation.  They say the head of the ring lived part time in Los Angeles, and part time in Mexico.

The arrests included seven people from Los Angeles County, and five from Ventura County.  Some of those taken into custody were arrested on drug dealing charges, while others are accused of being customers.
