A fire at a South Coast elementary school is now being called arson, and a boy has been arrested.

They were able to quickly put out the blaze before it caused major damage. Based on what they found, the firefighters also called an arson investigator, as well as Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 12 year old Newbury Park boy on a felony arson charge. The damage estimate tops the $10,000 mark.
