It was a spectacular launch from the Central Coast which lit up the Southern California skies.

The launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying communication satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base just before 5:30 Friday night created a huge buzz on social media. It created a gigantic streak in the sky which could be seen for hundreds of miles.

SpaceX officials say the launch went well, and the ten small communications satellites being carried by the rocket were successfully deployed into orbit.
