A Santa Barbara County man not only got to take the court for a few minutes at Sunday's Los Angeles Lakers basketball game in Los Angeles, he made a basket from the half court line, winning $35,000 in the process.

Travis Milne of Santa Maria was picked to take the shot between the game’s third and fourth quarters at Staples Center.  After the 27 year old computer programmer made the basket, some of the Lakers came over to congratulate him.

Milne told interviewers that he’d use the money which came from a Lakers promotion with a Las Vegas resort for a down payment on a home.
