"The Little Mermaid" was almost the swan song for the Ventura County based Cabrillo Music Theater, with financial issues prompting the non-profit to cancel a new season. But, a last minute donor gave the company enough capitol to keep operating.

A stage version of one of Disney’s biggest animated movies is drawing big crowds to a South Coast theater.

It was almost the last production ever for the financially troubled local non-profit theater company, but a major donor is giving the company another chance, allowing it to stage another season.
