A Central Coast hospital’s emergency room expansion project is finally complete, and with the ongoing coronavirus surge the timing couldn’t be better.

French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo has added 8600 square feet to the facility.  The expansion more than doubled the footprint of the emergency room, which has been named the Oppenheimer Family Center for Emergency Medicine.

The just completed phase of the project included the addition of state-of-the-art X-ray and CT imaging suites.

The project took the hospital from a five-bed ward, and semi-private rooms to 18 private treatment rooms.
