In the Carpinteria Valley, the smell coming from cannabis growing operations has upset community members for years, and lead to an ongoing controversy.

Different filtration systems are now in use at Autumn Brands Farm on Foothill Road.

Their newest system is from Molekule, which offers a portable filter for areas where there is trimming, for the warehouse, and for areas populated by office workers.

The air is going out through a carbon filter, and many other purification systems are being tested or are in use in the area.

Growers going through the permitting and licensing process need to have a working filtration that will be inspected by county officials.
