Shoppers who come to the Certified Farmer's Market on Saturdays at Santa Barbara's Cota Street parking lot will have a chance to speak out about the controversy surrounding its future.

This Saturday, a public workshop will be taking place to discuss the future of the market, which has been identified as a possible site for a new Santa Barbara Police Station.

Sam Edelman is with the Certified Farmer's Market. He says the plan now is two-fold.

Edelman says that they're getting suggestions on alternative sites, and learning about customers' habits, such as where they park and how long they're parking, to help get an idea of how to analyze the site going forward.

Representatives from the Santa Barbara City Public Works Department will be present for the meeting in the Santa Barbara Public library from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
