A 17-year-old was shot and wounded yesterday in the normally quiet Goleta area of Santa Barbara County.
Few details have been released about the location of the incident, but residents in nearby neighborhoods were contacted by the Sheriff's Department for information.
The injured youth was at Goleta Valley College Hospital when the Sheriff's Department was called. His wound is said not to be life-threatening.
Sources say the shooting happened around 7 p.m.
A canine unit was called in to help with the search, but no arrests have been made.
