A man has pled guilty to second degree murder after a house party in Ventura County ended with a brutal fatal stabbing.

Prosecutors say Librado Ruiz Rojo and Carlos Murillo were both at a party in Oxnard in January of 2020. They say as Murillo was leaving, Rojo challenged him to a fight, ultimately stabbing him 10 times.

The 24-year-old man died at the scene.

Rojo’s guilty plea means there won’t be a trial. The 22-year-old man will be sentenced in July.
