There’s a new court official in Ventura County.

Amy Van Sickle has been appointed as a Ventura County Court Commissioner. She’s been an attorney for two decades, handing family law, probate, and minor criminal matters.

For eight years, she also served as a Judge Pro Tem for the court. Judge Pro act as fill-ins for the court system.

As a Supervisor Court Commissioner, she’ll deal with things like family law, domestic violence, traffic, and small claims cases. She fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Commissioner William Redmond last year.

Van Sickle was selected by Ventura County Superior Court judges to fill the post.
