A brush fire closed a normally busy Central Coast highway for three hours.
The fire was reported just after 11 a.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Highway 151 and Paradise Road in the Santa Ynez Valley. The fire was reported to be two or three acres in size. No structures were threatened.
The blaze closed Highway 154 to Paradise Road for about three hours. The timing was bad, because it’s normally busy on weekends with tourists and vacationers visiting Lake Cachuma, wineries, and Solvang.
Firefighters aided by aircraft knocked down the blaze in about three hours. It was later mapped at less than an acre burned. There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
