Two Ventura County sheriff’s deputies are recovering after being exposed to an unknown type of powder while serving a search warrant.
It happened Tuesday morning, in the San Fernando Valley. The detectives were serving a warrant at an apartment in connection with a commercial burglary. A female detective collapsed, and her partner carried her outside.
They were both taken to the hospital for treatment, and are reported to be recovering.
Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko released a statement saying that testing by Los Angeles Police, and Fire Department teams showed the powder was a dangerous opioid.
