Ventura County has extended its mandatory indoor face covering order. The COVID-19 order was set to expire today. The latest extension sets some specific criteria for the order to be lifted.
It includes the county reaching, and staying in what would have been the yellow COVID-19 transmission tier for at least three weeks. COVID-19 hospitalizations would have to be low, and stable in the county.
It also requires that either 80% of the county’s population be fully vaccinated, or eight weeks have passed since a COVID-19 vaccine for 5 to 11-year-olds has been approved.
Under the criteria, it would be mid-November at the very earliest that the mask order could be lifted. The order requires masks to be worn regardless of vaccination status in places like restaurants, stores, and movie theaters.
