A man is facing multiple criminal charges after police say he deliberately hit someone with his pickup truck throwing the victim 20 feet through the front window of a South Coast laundromat.
It happened Friday night on Meigs Road in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara Police say the driver of the pickup had a dispute with the victim. Detectives say Patrick Tobin hit the man, backed out of the business, and drove into parking lot of a nearby restaurant.
Some witnesses chased the pickup. But, investigators say Tobin tried to hit one of them with his vehicle. The pickup missed and hit a concrete pillar. Some of the witnesses and firefighters held the Santa Barbara man until police arrived on the scene.
The man hit by the truck escaped with moderate injuries. Tobin was arrested on attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges.
