CHP investigators are trying to determine what led to the death of a Ventura County man who was struck and killed trying to run across Highway 101 in Santa Barbara County.
It happened just after one Friday morning, on the southbound 101 near Garden Street in Santa Barbara. The 21 year old Oak Park man ran onto the freeway from the center divider, and was hit by an oncoming tractor-trailer rig.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn't been released yet.
