Firefighters Getting Close To Fully Containing Central Coast Brush Fire; Now 80% Contained

Santa Barbara County firefighters are getting close to fully containing a brush fire on the Central Coast. The 110-acre Windmill Fire near Buellton is now 80% contained.

It started after 2 pm Friday near Highway 246 and spread quickly. An evacuation warning was issued for the Bobcat Springs community, but it was later lifted. Fire crews used helicopters, air tankers and dozers to help stop the spread.

There’s still no word on what caused the fire.

Full containment is now expected by Monday morning.
