Father, Son Killed In Apartment Fire On South Coast

Father, son die in Port Hueneme apartment fire

Tragedy hit the South Coast, when an apartment fire left a father and his young son dead.

The blaze was discovered just after four a.m. Friday in a two story apartment complex on the 200 block of East C Street in Port Hueneme. A mother and daughter were able to flee the apartment, but a father and his young son were trapped inside. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ventura County firefighters were able to contain the fire in about 15 minutes, before it could spread to neighboring units. There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire, or the identity of the victims.
