With a major storm on the way, Los Padres National Forest officials decided it would be a good time to do some seasonal closures on some campgrounds, roads, and trails in the forest on the Central Coast.
More than a dozen campgrounds in the Pozo, Rockfront, Colson, and Figueroa areas have been closed, as well as more than a half dozen roads. A number of backcountry off road vehicle trails have also been shut down for the raining season.
The closures will remain in effect for the next few months, until the rainy season is over and Forest Service crews are able to assess their safety.
