Gas Leak Prompts Evacuations In Ventura Neighborhood

Ventura Firefighters, gas company crews work to safely shut down leak after gas line accidentially cut in neighborhood

Four homes have been evacuated, and residents of several others have been have been ordered to shelter in place because of a gas leak.

A backhoe accidentally cut into a gas line near Inspiration Way and Laurel Street in Ventura just before nine this morning.

No one was hurt, and Ventura firefighters and repair crews are now on scene. It’s expected the line will be repaired by noon.
