A man is recovering after injuries sustained in a vegetation fire Sunday evening, while clearing brush with a chainsaw.

The accident happened just before 7 p.m; the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters were on the scene to douse the fire, which put up smoke in the hillside where there's thick vegetation and many structures.

Santa Barbara City Fire and the Montecito Fire Protection District stopped the fire at about an acre.

There was no significant wind at the time.

Earlier in the day, a shed fire had damaged a structure and forced a street closure as well.
