Fire crews raced to the Santa Barbara Riviera Monday afternoon, when brush caught fire near Cleveland Elementary School on Alameda Padre Serra.

The area burning was small but was close to portable buildings on the campus.

Several fire engines were called out, while students still on campus after school were evacuated from a playground.

One student was taken to the principal's office for allegedly starting the fire.

While crews were fighting the fire on the hill, a large eucalyptus tree went down, knocking out power for 131 people on Mason Street.
