A repair plan is underway for the landmark Victor the Florist neon sign in downtown Santa Barbara.

A driver lost control of their car Monday morning and hit a signal light. The pole then hit a building, and damaged the neon lettering.

The car came a couple of feet away from going into the store's display window.

Witnesses say the elderly driver of the car had already sideswiped two vehicles and run two red lights before the crash into the signal light.

The driver was taken to Cottage Hospital for treatment of his minimal injuries.
