Longtime City Manager on South Coast announces retirement

Goleta City Manager Michelle greene announced she will be retiring June 30th, after eight years as City Manager and 18 years with the city.

Michelle Green has been with the City of Goleta for 18 years of its 20 year history.

The top non-elected official for one of the South Coast’s largest cities has announced her retirement.

Michelle Green will step down as Goleta’s City Manager June 30th. Green has been City Manager since 2014.

But, she’s been with the local government agency in different capacities for 18 of the 20 years since it was first incorporated as a city. During her tenure, Goleta bought a permanent City Hall building, built one park and bought property for another, and created a municipal library.

She’ll help with Goleta’s planned national search for a new city manager.
