A trial date has been set for the man accused of murdering a Central Coast college student 25 years ago.
Paul Flores is accused of killing Kristen Smart in May of 1996. The two were students at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo at the time. Prosecutors say Flores walked Smart back Cal Poly from an off-campus party, but then attacked and killer her in his dorm room. Her body was never recovered.
An April 22nd, 2022 trial date was set after a judge ruled there was enough evidence for a trial.
Ruben Flores will also stand trial. Prosecutors say he helped his son cover up the killing. Both men entered not guilty pleas to the charges.
