Traditional 2021 Santa Barbara County Fair Cancelled, But Some Fair Activities Planned For This Summer

Carnival, live entertainment, and virtual livestock auction set

The pandemic means that for the second year in a row, there won’t be a Santa Barbara County Fair this year.

But, the community will get some of the fair activities. The Santa Maria Fairpark will host what’s called a “portable theme park.” You buy one ticket, and it gives you admission for unlimited carnival rides, plus live entertainment and shows. It also features traditional carnival games, and fair food like funnel cakes.

The Helms and Sons Amusements Greatest Portable Theme Park will be at the Fairpark July 1st through 4th, and 8th through 11th.

And, fair officials say while there won’t be an in-person livestock auction, there will be a virtual event July 15th and 16th.
