A non-profit group and a bank have teamed up to help dozens of small businesses impacted by the Woolsey and Hill brush fires with recovery grants. Women’s Economic Ventures awarded more than $238,000 in grants to 38 businesses in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. The money came from Wells Fargo.

The founder of a one of a kind non-profit in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties which helps women start, or expand businesses is retiring. Women’s Economic Ventures CEO Marsha Bailey is stepping down after nearly three decades on the job.

A new program is offering special grants to small businesses in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties impacted by the Hill and Woolsey brush fires. Women’s Economic Ventures is offering more than two dozen business recovery grants of up to $10,000 each to eligible businesses.
