santa ana wind

We are seeing a break from high winds on the Central and South Coasts Tuesday morning, but potentially dangerous Santa Ana winds are predicted to come roaring back into the region Tuesday night. A Red Flag Warning is in the forecast for parts of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 6 p.m. Thursday.

A strong Santa Ana wind event is in the weather forecast for later this week which could lead to some potentially dangerous brush fire conditions.

A trough settling into the Great Basin could create strong wind around the end of the work week for Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties.  Peak wind gusts topping 50 miles an hour are possible Thursday into Friday.  The humidity could drop to the 5%-15% range, increasing the brush fire potential.
